Counting down...

Well, its officially B-Day (that's Bus Stop Britain Day) minus 84, and the organising of this epic trip is so far going pretty smoothly. The route is pretty much set now, I have key accommodation booked and most of the connecting services have been researched.

I have also been acquiring a few bits and pieces of equipment for the trip. I'll be leaving my own professional cameras at home because of their sheer weight and instead I've got myself a neat little Lumix that will fit in a shirt pocket but which give images almost as good as my Nikons. Can't believe how something that small can give images that good.

I've also got a Netbook now so I can update this blog every evening, though I have to say the Windows 7 OS is fairly horrid when you are more used to Mac, and I've even got hold of a tiny little Canon video camera which I might use to document some or all of my journey. So, more YouTube, then....

Only trouble, of course, is that I could so busy trying to record the journey that I hardly notice where I am! Gotta watch out for that one....

And finally, my good friend Ian has introduced me to the amazing world of Twitter and has set me up with my own Twitter page so I can keep everyone posted on the vagaries of my journey on an almost real-time basis. So you can follow me on www.twitter.com/bus_stop_britain.

So, I'm pretty much ready to go. Err... what do I do for the next 3 months.....
